With witch hats, devil horns and vampire teeth taking over every shop in the country, it’s almost impossible not to get excited for the Halloween season. This time of year always brings children dressed up as little monsters, extravagantly themed club nights and, more importantly, an equal measure of tricks and treats.

For many people, this is the best holiday of the year- and we have to say we’re always in full support of anything that involves a bit of fancy dress! But whether you’re dressing as Dracula, Frankenstein or Donald Trump, you’re going to want to know exactly how to make the most of Halloween this year.

Well, fortunately Manchester is always the place to be over the spooky season, and the infamous Halloweekend event is set to return to the streets this Saturday.

If you’re unfamiliar with this spectacular celebration of Halloween, then you’ll probably like to know that it’s basically a weekend of giving the City of Manchester something of a spooky make-over. Sound good? Well, we’re going to tell you all about it!

Last year, some of Manchester’s most iconic buildings were lit up in a vibrant bright green colour, while pumpkins took over the major streets and gave the entire city a ghostly appearance. We’re expecting to see more of the same this year, and we can’t wait to see what the organisers do with the place!

Halloweekend runs on October 28th-29th, giving you a full weekend (clue is in the title) to enjoy a whole load of Halloween themed fun! There’s going to be a huge inflatable monster that’s bound to make a few jaws drop, while various trick or treat hunts will take place all over the city too!

There’s also going to be a Gothic Fashion Show, a Haunted Maze and a Canine Catwalk that will parade adorable dogs around in the cutest Halloween costumes!

In short, the whole city is going to be alive with the electricity that always accompanies this time of year- and you’d be mad to miss out on it! What better way is there to spend your weekend than joining in with some Halloween fun with family or friends?

Well, if you find yourself in town for the festivities, then come and visit the best bar in Manchester– Barca! We’ll have some tricks and treats of our own this Halloween, so make sure you pop down for a drink if you’re in the area!
