It’s fair to say that Manchester is pretty big on its music. When you’ve got bands like Oasis, The Stone Roses and The Smiths contributing to your music scene, it stands to reason that people from all over the world will come to recognise the sounds of the city.

Speaking of which, the phenomenal Sounds of the City event looks set to take over the iconic Castlefield Bowl yet again this year, just a stone’s throw away from us at Barca! With music fans travelling from all over the country, these extraordinary gigs have never failed to bring Manchester to life- so long as the rain holds off!

Last year, the likes of Arcade Fire and Hacienda Classical led an absolutely incredible line-up: but what about this year?

When Is It?

The first night of Sounds of the City is Wednesday 27th June 2018, with gigs scheduled every couple of days or so right up until Friday 6th July. There are 6 different gigs confirmed so far, so there’s plenty of tickets available for you to get your hands on!

Who’s Playing?

Things kick off on the 27th with a huge gig from Chic and Nile Rodgers, as the whole of Manchester looks set to get down with some disco funk. Shed Seven, Levellers, Rag ‘N’ Bone Man and Paul Heaton have all been confirmed too, while Hacienda Classical return yet again for a gig that’s already sold out.

How Do I Get Tickets?

Tickets for most of the shows are currently available on Ticketmaster and other ticket sites, while the Chic tickets are due to go on sale this Friday (9th February).

Where Can I Get A Drink?

When the sun’s out and the sky is blue, we’re sure that you’ll be absolutely desperate to soak up some of that Manchester sunshine while it lasts. Well, then you’ll need to visit the best bar in Manchester before the show and enjoy our fantastic beer garden! We’re just round the corner from the Castlefield Bowl, so we’re the perfect place to grab a pre-show drink!
