Are you a lover of food and drink? Well, foodies assemble – Manchester locals and visitors strike gold (or millionaire’s shortbread) with this year’s 21st annual Manchester Food and Drink Festival from 27th September until 8th October.
The annual pop-up festival takes place in Manchester’s vibrant Albert Square, home to the stunning Town Hall which adds a stunning visual backdrop to the festivities. You can expect to find an array of flavours and the best street and restaurant food Manchester has to offer.
Live band entertainment will also feature at the festival including The Slow Readers Club, I Am Kloot legend John Bramwell as well as New Orleans-style street procession band Mr Wilson’s Second Liners. You can find live bands at the City Life stage inside the festival hub.
Manchester Food and Drink Festival revellers can attend a number of activities on the programme and entry completely free. From family fun-day to the live cooking theatre, the festival is definitely worth a gander.
You can’t have incredible food without drinks to knock it out of the park! The Manchester Food and Drink Festival features a Vin-Van-Voom van which is sure to see wine fans pouring in. If you’re more of a gin connoisseur take your pick from the many eclectic gin pop-ups (and plenty of free samples!)
The festival runs from September 27th to October 8th and is jam-packed with entertainment from all varieties and flavours to make anyone’s pallet water.
If you’re discovering Manchester for the day why not visit Castlefield? Around ten minutes’ walk from the festival at Albert Square. Come and soak up the gorgeous views tucked away in Castlefield. You can find Barca Bar at 8 & 9 Catalan Square, by the historical roman fort ruins and the Sandstone Cliff by the Bridgewater Canal.
